Ramona Nakib, Artist

This is the first time in my life that I am calling myself “Artist”. I’m 62 years old and I’ve been many things in my life. Most importantly wife & mother, I’ve also been accountant, controller, consultant and many things in between.

It takes courage to change who you perceive yourself to be, and who others see you as. I never had that courage. I still find it hard to believe I’m an artist. That’s why I am announcing it to the world. I’m making a commitment to being an artist. I’m making a commitment to letting people know how it feels to follow a passion after you have been distant from it all your life.

In my blog I would like others to know what steps I am taking to solidify my identity as an artist, what challenges I face, and how I resolve them. I will talk about my feelings and welcome others to share their feelings about being or becoming an artist at an older age.

I hope to help others nurture their creative artistic self.
